How do I reach Kashi Vishwanath Temple?
Take a taxi, app cab or auto to Godowlia crossing or Maidagin — vehicles cannot go further into the old city — and walk the last few hundred metres to the temple gates. From the airport (about 25 km) allow 45–90 minutes; from Varanasi Junction (about 5–6 km) allow 20–45 minutes. You can also arrive by boat and walk up through the Dham.

Kashi Vishwanath stands inside the old city, surrounded by lanes too narrow for cars. Every route ends with a walk. The usual drop-off points are:
- Godowlia crossing — the busy junction south of the temple; about a 10–15 minute walk, depending on crowds, via the road towards Dashashwamedh and the temple lanes.
- Maidagin — north of the temple, convenient from the Kal Bhairav side.
Traffic police restrict vehicles around Godowlia and Dashashwamedh at busy times; you may be dropped further away.

Arriving by boat
The Kashi Vishwanath Dham opens onto the river near Lalita Ghat. You can take a boat from Dashashwamedh or Assi to the Dham's riverside entrance and walk up — a beautiful approach, especially at dawn.

- Walk towards the temple, following signs for the Kashi Vishwanath Dham gates.
