What is not allowed inside Kashi Vishwanath Temple?
Phones, cameras, smartwatches, power banks, earphones and other electronics are generally not allowed inside. Bags, leather items such as belts and wallets, tobacco, lighters and sharp objects are also left behind. Lockers are provided near the entrances. Rules can change, so check the official portal.

Where to leave things
Lockers are provided near the entry points. The official description of Sugam Darshan mentions a free locker. For general darshan, follow the signs to the locker facilities. The simplest option is to leave non-essentials at your hotel.
Why the restrictions?
The temple handles very large crowds, and the restrictions support security and the smooth movement of the queue. They also help preserve the sanctity of the sanctum.

Can I take my phone switched off?
No. Phones are generally not allowed inside even if switched off. Use the lockers.
Are leather items allowed?
Leather items such as belts and wallets are commonly asked to be left outside. Carry cash in a cloth pouch.
