How many days are enough for Varanasi?

Two to three days is ideal for most visitors. One day is enough for Kashi Vishwanath, a few nearby temples and the Ganga Aarti. Two days add a sunrise boat ride and south Kashi; three add Sarnath and a slower pace. Stay longer for festivals, the Panchakroshi Yatra, music or study.

Why at least two days

Kashi is at its most beautiful at dawn and dusk. With one day you get one of each; with two or three you can see the river at sunrise, take darshan without rushing and still rest in the afternoons.
