What is Sugam Darshan?
Sugam Darshan is the temple trust's paid darshan service. The official portal describes it as a queue-less darshan with an escort (a 'Shastri' assistant), a free locker and mewa laddu prasadam. It is booked online on the official portal for a chosen date and slot. The price is set by the trust and can change.

When we checked the official portal in September 2026, Sugam Darshan was described as:
- queue-less darshan of the Lord,
- escorted by a Shastri assistant,
- a free locker, and
- mewa laddu prasadam at the end.
We do not publish the price because it is set by the trust and has changed over time, and may differ on special days. Check it on the official booking page.
How booking works
In outline, booking on the official portal follows these steps:
- Open the official portal and choose Sugam Darshan from the services list.
- Register or sign in.
- Select the date and time slot.
- Enter the details of each visitor as requested, including photo ID.
- Pay online and download or save the e-ticket.
On the day, carry the original photo ID used when booking along with the ticket, and reach the reporting point well before your slot.
Is Sugam Darshan worth it?
It may be, if:
- you have limited time in Varanasi,
- you are travelling with elderly relatives or young children, or
- you are visiting on a busy day.
Even with Sugam Darshan, the sanctum itself can be crowded and time in front of the linga is short. Availability is limited and may be suspended on major festival days.
Special days
On peak occasions — Mondays in Sawan, Mahashivratri and some festivals — the temple administration may suspend or change paid services and passes. Check announcements close to your date.

Not necessarily. Sparsh darshan (touching the linga) depends on the temple's rules at the time and is suspended on busy days.
What ID should I carry?
